Ep.36 The 5 types of imposter syndrome & 5 ways to beat it for good!
Do you often credit your success to luck, to helpful others or another external factor? Do you downplay your own expertise, even in areas where you are actually more skilled than others? Do you not feel deserving of the work title you hold?
These are all signs you may have ‘imposter syndrome’ - a persistent doubt concerning your abilities or accomplishments accompanied by the fear of being exposed as a fraud, despite evidence of your success.
On this podcast, I discuss what imposter syndrome is and some signs that this may be an area-for-improvement for you. I then consider five common types of imposter syndrome, as identified by Dr Valerie Young: the perfectionist, the expert, the natural genius, the soloist and the superperson, and invite you to consider which one you see yourself in, before sharing 5 different ways that you can ditch it for good and make steps towards living out your highest potential with the most inner freedom possible.
I also share some of my own experience with imposter syndrome as a university student and what I wish I had done differently.
