What if your “gut instinct” or “gut feeling” about someone was more than something metaphysical or woo woo? What if it actually was from one of the organs in your body? Namely, our GUT. Think of this episode as gut health 101: what is our gut and what does it do? What does the word microbiome even mean? What is the nature of the gut-brain connection? What are some signs that our gut health is less than optimal? How can we have a gut reset? Simple answers and simple hacks provided herein. 

Our guest is British nutritional therapist Eve Kalinik. She is co-host of podcast “The Wellness Collective”, the author of two books: Be Good to Your Gut and Happy Gut, Happy Mind and she regularly writes on the subject of food, nutrition and wellbeing for media platforms and newspapers including The Telegraph, The Guardian, GQ and Vogue.

In addition to “gut health for dummies” class, we also discuss Eve’s own starting over - moving into functional medicine and nutrition from the busy world of fashion PR, much to the incredulity of her boss who couldn’t believe she’d pass up working with Dolce and Gabbana & Givenchy for… gut health. (PS: Eve is pretty content with that start over). We also share some views around serendipity, spirituality, whether things really ‘happen for a reason’ and how health & wellness has got to be holistic in nature.
