How can we break unhealthy patterns? How can we expand our window of tolerance, get less triggered and less reactive to live a more peaceful and free life? How long does it actually take to achieve lasting change?
These are some of the topics I explore with British trauma expert, research psychologist, coach and author of ‘You Are Not Broken’ Sarah Woodhouse. Sarah also explains how we can find relief from addictive processes including perpetual busyness which is so commonplace in 21st century Western society. She says: “Anyone who’s struggling with trauma, I promise you, you have addictive processes going on. The two go hand in hand”. But this isn’t meant to be a gloomy life sentence- this episode is created to inspire you, pique your curiosity and fill you with hope that you can in fact change yourself as well as your life to achieve something many of us are united in seeking: freedom and peace.
We also discuss ways in which Sarah’s own ‘starting over’ and her personal path to healing from relational trauma in her past and symptoms such as alcoholism & anorexia.
