Crying episodes, sweaty palms, nervous breakdowns, increasing cynicism towards her job… Christine Reffo had all the warning signs that she was burning out. But she ignored them. Until she could no longer deny that her lucrative, prestigious and fast-paced lifestyle working for a global Swiss bank was harming her health and wellbeing.
Christine says: “I was used to pushing and overriding my physical and emotional needs in order to get another very important need met… That is, external validation, praise and love through (my) performance at work”. But she now knows that her worthiness is intrinsic and unshakeable, and she is guided by a new motto that is: “If it costs you your mental health, it is too expensive”. I couldn’t agree more.
In this episode we discuss Christine’s decision to step away from corporate, her holistic healing journey and how we can live an abundant life, full of meaning, joy and freedom.
